MILLBURY — Scoring on series after series of back door cuts, scissors plays, and give and goes, Perrysburg shocked Sandusky, 66-51, in a Division I district semifinal at Lake High School’s Flyer Fieldhouse Tuesday.

CAREY, Ohio — After being down by 17 with less than four minutes remaining in the game, the Perrysburg girls basketball team had a chance to make it a one possession game in the final minute of their Division I district final showdown on Saturday.

CAREY, Ohio — For Perrysburg to defeat Toledo Whitmer in a Division I district semifinal Thursday, the Yellow Jackets knew they were going to have to limit 6-foot-1 senior center Mackenzie Royal-Davis.

FINDLAY — Findlay started five seniors, Perrysburg started all underclassmen, but the Yellow Jackets secured sole possession of second place in the Northern Lakes League Buckeye Division by defeating the Trojans, 56-51, Thursday.

PERRYSBURG — The Anthony Wayne girls basketball team showed up in Perrysburg looking to win an outright Northern Lakes League Buckeye Division championship, while a Perrysburg win would keep the Yellow Jackets in the running to share the title.

It didn’t matter to either Perrysburg or Bowling Green that Friday’s boys basketball game on the Bobcats’ floor no longer counts in the Northern Lakes League standings.

PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg 5-foot-11 sophomore forward Hayden Siebenaler found herself stepping into the shoes of 6-foot-1 senior Wrigley Takats when Takats chose to focus on her upcoming NCAA Division I volleyball career.

FINDLAY — Perrysburg got 11 players into the scoring column en route to defeating Genoa, 75-44, to win Liberty-Benton’s Steve Williman Classic holiday tournament Saturday.

FINDLAY — First, Liberty-Benton High School honored their longtime hall of fame and state champion former basketball coach Steve Williman, who had over 500 wins during his career.
