Elvin Layman, 76, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away March 26, 2023. He was born on December 31, 1946 to the late Ella and Floyd Layman. He married Barb Bentley in 1966 and there were together until she passed away in 2020.
Pamela Ann Bechtel passed away on March 24, 2023. She was born on May 22, 1956 in Sandusky, OH to Jessie (Eichhorn) Bechtel and Paul Edwin Bechtel. She was the oldest of their three children. Pam attended K-12 schools in Sandusky, OH, Perrysburg, OH and Tipp City, OH. She was a 1974 graduate of Tippecanoe H.S. in Tipp City, OH. She was a 1978 graduate of BGSU and received her Masters’ degree from BGSU in 1981. Pam earned her Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in August 2001 in Sport and Exercise Education.
Mary (Hebler) Vestal, 93, of Pemberville, OH, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at Otterbein Pemberville surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 3, 1929 to Ernest and Emma Hebler of Pemberville, OH. She married Harry Vestal on January 22, 1949 and had a son, Daniel, and a daughter, Cynthia (Fox).
Mitchel D. Freeman was a born teacher and renaissance man. He passed away, Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Grove City, OH. In his 66 years he taught his family, friends, students, athletes and coworkers many things. Whether sharing the finer points of laying brick, correcting your pronunciation of the word water, or recalling Pistol Pete’s college scoring statistics, he was great at changing and expanding minds. He may have taught you how to run a little faster, install a gas light mantle or break a full court press, but regardless of the lesson, he left you a better person in just one conversation.
John C. McPherson, age 86, of Perrysburg, OH passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo with his family near his side. He was born on August 28, 1936 in Bowling Green, OH to Lester and Loretta A. (Christen) McPherson. On June 6, 1959 he married Joanne K. Monroe in Bowling Green, Oh. John and Joanne raised 4 sons and celebrated nearly 53 years of marriage, before Joanne’s passing in August of 2012.
