David Allen Hoffsis, 68, of Bowling Green, OH passed away July 5, 2023. He was born March 1, 1955, in Bowling Green to the late George and Gloria (Shafer) Hoffsis. He married Mary Serna on December 10, 1977, and she survives in Bowling Green. From 1980 to 1999, they made their home in Bryan, OH.
Charles Edwin “Chase” Morgart, age 88, of Bloomdale, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 10, 1935, near Wayne to the late Edwin G. & Vida (Rohtert) Morgart. Charlie married Lois Connell on April 2, 1954, in Angola, Indiana.
Michael Scott Szabo, 60, of Dublin, Ohio and formerly of Bowling Green, passed away July 1, 2023. He was born February 22, 1963 in Bowling Green to Ernest and Mary Lou (Gibson) Szabo.
Clarence William “Bill” Gangwer, age 89, of Risingsun, Ohio was called to his eternal home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at his home in Risingsun. He was born on July 30, 1933, in Kansas, OH, at home to Chance O., and Laura N. (Drake) Gangwer. He married Emma Agnes Hill on October 17, 1954, and she preceded him in death.
Steven A. Comes, 70, of Pemberville, OH, entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Wood County Hospital in Bowling Green. He was born May 16, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY, to Edward and Elizabeth (Alwill) Comes. On January 18, 1974 he married Kathleen S. Campbell in Toledo, OH. Steven and Kathleen raised 3 children and have celebrated over 49 years of marriage together.
Merl Edward Webb, Sr. was born on February 22, 1940, to John M. Webb and Dorothy B. Herringshaw in Lacarne, OH. He served in the United States Army for 2 years, then served 4 years in the United States Navy on the USS Lexington. He is survived by his wife Judy A. Webb and children Harry C. (Jennifer) Hiler, Dawn Courtney, Merl E. (Shelly) Webb Jr, Joseph (Kristen) Zuniga, and J. Adam Webb, numerous grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Ed is also survived by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Mark A. Webb.
Carol Lynn Joseph, 67, of Lakeview passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
Sandra Sue McClish, age 79, of Findlay and formerly of Luckey, OH passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Bridge Hospice in Findlay. She was born on December 5, 1943, in Toledo, OH to Dale and Mary (Loomis) Rolf and would later graduate from Eastwood High School. On November 2, 1963 she married Harold “Jack” McClish, in Luckey, OH at Grace Lutheran Church. Sandra and Jack raised 2 sons and celebrated 37 years of marriage together before Jack’s passing in 2001
Daniel T. Spitler, 83, a prominent Bowling Green attorney, passed away June 11, 2023. Dan was born September 20, 1939, in Perrysburg, Ohio, to Emmett V. (“Tim”) Spitler and Grace McMahon Spitler. He married Linda Burger on April 19, 1964, and she preceded him in death June 3, 2021.
Mary E. Asmus, 93, of Bowling Green and formerly of Pemberville, passed away December 25, 2022. A graveside service will be held on Monday July 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Bowling Green. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dunn Funeral Home.
