A Wood County man has pleaded guilty to sexually touching a teenage girl.

Charles Griffith, 45, Luckey, was transported from jail Thursday to the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman.

He was indicted in May for 10 counts of sexual battery, all third-degree felonies and all with a sexually violent predator specification; and one count of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles, a fifth-degree felony.

He pleaded guilty to six counts of sexual battery. In exchange, the state dropped the sexually violent predator specifications.

All remaining counts will be dismissed at sentencing.

Wood County Assistant Prosecutor Charles McDonald said there was a joint agreement for a 30-year prison sentence.

Upon his release from prison, Griffith will be required to register as a Tier III sex offender, which will require him to register every 90 days for life.

When questioned on April 30, the victim, who was 16 years old, told Wood County sheriff deputies that Griffith had started sexually touching her in 2023, according to court documents.

On May 3, the mother of the victim called law enforcement to report Griffith had admitted to doing everything the victim accused him of.

The indictment lists the offenses had occurred between Jan. 1 and May 31, 2023.

Sentencing was scheduled for Dec. 12.
