The Bowling Green Kiwanis Club has announced that Fred Chmiel, head coach of the Bowling Green State University women’s basketball team, will be the featured speaker at the club’s meeting Thursday.
The meeting will take place at noon at the Slater Family Ice Arena Lounge on the BGSU campus. The public is invited to attend, with lunch available from 11:30 a.m. for $15.
Chmiel will provide a preview of the upcoming 2024-25 season, sharing insights into the team’s preparation, key players to watch, and his vision for what promises to be one of the most thrilling seasons yet for the BGSU women’s basketball program.
Chmiel, one of the architects of a South Carolina women’s basketball team that advanced to the Final Four in each of his final three seasons there, was named to the BGSU helm on April 8, 2023.
