Doris Irene Johnson, age 94, of Pemberville, Ohio, formerly of Wayne, Ohio passed away peacefully on Monday (October 14, 2024) at Otterbein Pemberville Senior Life Community surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on April 6, 1930 in Hoytville, Ohio to the late Carl & Pearl (Drummond) Barringer. She married E. Amos Johnson on June 25, 1950 in Van Buren, Ohio.
Surviving is her loving husband of 74 years, Amos; sons, Joe (Susan) Johnson of Pemberville, Ohio, Jerry (Leeann) Johnson of Bradner, Ohio, Tim Johnson of Weston, Ohio, Jim (Gwyn) Johnson of Wayne, Ohio; daughters, Peggy (Richard) King of Risingsun, Ohio, Cheryl (Bill) Nagel of Howell, Michigan, Janice Carter of Wayne, Ohio, Jeannie (Brian) Walter of Bradner, Ohio; brother, Ralph (Susan) Barringer of Findlay, Ohio; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Johnson; son-in-law, Jeff Carter; brothers, Harold, Ray, Clarence, Charles, Robert; sister, Janiece Stage.
Doris was a homemaker and enjoyed embroidering, baking, cooking, but what she enjoyed most was family, especially all her children & grandchildren. She was a member of Christ Church in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. Thursday (October 17, 2024) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio where there will be a Celebration of Life Service at 11 a.m. Friday (October 18, 2024) with Pastor Joel Nagel officiating.
Burial will be in Weaver Cemetery, Bloom Township, Wood County, Ohio.
