Otsego’s Budge finishes in upper half at state

AKRON — Otsego senior Elizabeth “Lizzy” Budge finished 32nd out of a 72-person field in the girls Division II state golf tournament on Sunday and Monday at the Firestone Golf Club on the Fazio course.

Budge finished the tournament with a total score of 187. On the first day of the tournament, she carded a 95 and on the second a 92 on an extremely tough links golf course. It’s a par 70 with a length of 6,095 yards, slope of 128, and a 69.1 rating

She shot an 84 in the district tournament at Sycamore Springs to qualify for the tournament. At Otsego, this season she broke the school record for lowest round and was the Northern Buckeye Conference player of the year, leading the Knights to a league championship.
