Warrant issued for BG man for assault

Bowling Green police were dispatched Saturday to the 300 block of Derby Avenue for a report of a possible assault.

When officers arrived around 1:33 a.m., they spoke to the victim whose eyes were swollen and visibly red, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

The victim stated that their neighbor, Foster Stretchbery, 37, Bowling Green, sprayed them with pepper spray. The victim told officers that Stretchbery had been yelling at them for playing loud music in their backyard.

Stretchbery allegedly swung at the victims from across the fence before spraying them, according to the report.

Officers went to Stretchbery’s residence and knocked on the door several times, with no answer.

Video footage showed the encounter where three individuals were fighting back and forth. Stretchbery can be heard in the video threating to harm the two individuals and was seen swinging at them, according to the report.

The victims wanted to press charges.

The Bowling Green Fire Division treated the victims for their injuries.

A warrant was issued for Stretchbery’s arrest.
