Make feather tree at Beeker’s

PEMBERVILLE — Beeker’s General Store, one of Ohio’s oldest general stores located in downtown Pemberville, is set to host a vintage Feather Tree Class on Oct. 12 from 9 am -noon.

Feather tree artist Dennis Bauer, Bellevue, will lead the class assisted by floral designer Michele Poturalski of Downtown Deco. Participants will learn the German heritage of the goose feather tree as they make their 18 inch tree.

All materials are provided and participants should near completion of their tree during the three hour workshop.

The workshop cost is $50 per person and includes Christmas tea and cookies as a part of the morning festivities. Participants will choose to make an authentic green or white tree using pre-dyed goose feathers. Pre-registration and payment are required by calling Beeker’s at 419-287-3274. Class size is limited.

Book sale at Fremont library

FREMONT — Birchard Public Library is having a book sale on Oct. 17 from 10-8, Oct. 18 from 10-5 and Oct. 19 from 9-noon Saturday being Bag Day. Bring any bag or grab one of ours and fill it for $3.
