David Roberto Cano, 59, of Bowling Green, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2024 at the home of his sister Yolanda, in Deshler, Ohio. He was surrounded by his family at his side.

He was born in Bowling Green, Ohio on February 28th, 1965 to the late Jose Daniel Cano Sr. and the late Elisa (Pacheco) Cano. He was the 8th of 9 children.

David “Dave” was a humble man who loved and treasured his family. To him, as long as he had his family, he didn’t need or want material possessions – because they were indeed, his true treasures. A gentle, loving soul he fought courageously and bravely during his last days until he was called home. Always willing to help others less fortunate than himself, having experienced life on his own terms, he understood what it meant to not judge people outwardly but rather he graciously discovered what was in their heart, and helped in any way he was able.

He was a passionate fan of the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and Detroit Tigers. He never gave up on the Cleveland Browns, which speaks to his level of undying loyalty, dedication and humor.

Dave loved his music and was always up to challenging anyone and everyone on music trivia, which he seamlessly, almost always won. His music history knowledge was unmatched. He played drums in his younger days and spent many days “jamming” at his parent’s house. He loved to laugh, loved to tell a good joke, but he especially loved to hear the laughter of his sweet granddaughter, Savannah. Her laugh was the best music he ever knew.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Daniel Sr. and Elisa Cano, brothers Alberto Cano, Antonio Cano, Sr. and his nephew Daniel Thomas Patton Jr.

He leaves behind his loving daughter Whitney Rainwater, son-in-law, Ryan Moreno, grandson Tristan Rainwater, and his sweet granddaughter, Savannah; brothers: Jose Cano Sr., Frank Cano, Ric Cano, sisters: Yolanda Cano, Mary Cano , Gloria Cano, Sue (Alberto) Cano; special niece Corrie Cano, and many other nieces and nephews which he dearly loved.

In honor of Dave’s wishes, a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
