Perrysburg woman cited for DUI after driving into a ditch

A Perrysburg woman drove into a ditch on July 21.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The Wood County Sherrif’s Office handled the situation.

Around 11:15 p.m., Gina Abel, 37, Perrysburg, was traveling north on Ohio 199 in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze. Abel left the roadway to the right and entered a deep ditch, striking a concrete culvert.

Abel suffered serious injuries and was transported to the Mercy Health – St. Vincent’s Hospital in Toledo via Life Flight. Abel was not wearing her seatbelt.

She was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs.
