BG man charged with rape ordered to have no contact with alleged victim

A Bowling Green man indicted for two counts of rape has been ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim or the victim’s family.

Travis Noon, 26, appeared Thursday in the courtroom of Wood County Common Pleas Judge Joel Kuhlman.

The no contact order is the result of Noon making numerous calls while in jail to family members of the victim.

According to court documents, Moon called a family member 23 times between May 8 and May 12 and spoke once with the alleged victim.

The jail blocked the family member’s phone numbers so Noon could no longer call them; however, with his release, the state requested additional safeguards to prevent prohibited contact.

Noon posted $100,000 bond and was discharged from jail June 4.

He resides within walking distance of the alleged victim, said Wood County Chief Assistant Prosecutor Pamela Gross.

“I have a lot of concern for those children,” she said.

Kuhlman granted a temporary protection order and placed Noon on electronic monitoring.

From June 12-15, 2023, and again June 15-19, 2023, in Bowling Green, Noon allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with the same female who was six years old.

The alleged incident occurred when there were other children in the residence.

At the time of his arraignment, Kuhlman said mandatory life in prison without parole was a possible sentence if Noon is found guilty of both charges.

A trial date was set for Jan. 27-29.
