BG woman warned for filing false alarm

Bowling Green Police were dispatched Tuesday to the 200 block of Baldwin Avenue around 4:05 p.m.

A Bowling Green woman called 911 for an ambulance and was transported to the hospital, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

She claimed to have serious right knee pain, lower back pain, and memory loss from an assault on the 1400 block of East Wooster Street around 3:30 p.m. that day. She told police that a man grabbed her by the front of her shirt and shook her, according to the report.

She stated that the man walked away then returned and shook her again, causing her to fall and injure her knee. She stated that she reported it to the restaurant staff.

She had no visible injuries and later refused to write a statement, according to the report.

Officers followed up with the woman’s house manager, who stated that she left around 2:40 p.m. and returned at 3:20 p.m. and reported the incident to them.

Officers then met with the restaurant supervisor, who showed them video surveillance footage of the woman leaving the restaurant. Se did not speak or interact with anyone, according to the report.

Officers later returned to the woman’s residence and told her what they saw. She apologized and was issued a criminal summons for making false alarms.
