Tajblik, Hubbard, O’Brien voted All-Ohio

Lake junior pitcher Drew Tajblik, a University of Toledo commit, is a first team Division III All-Ohio pitcher in voting by the state’s coaches.

In stats submitted before the tournament, Tajblik was 10-0 with 100 strikeouts, 21 walks, 62 hits, 24 runs, and 16 earned runs in 76.2 innings pitched. He pitched in 13 games, starting 12, including seven complete games with three shutouts.

Perrysburg senior Matt Hubbard, also a Toledo commit, is Division I second team All-Ohio. Hubbard batted .432 this season (38-for-88) with 11 doubles, one triple, one home run, 32 RBIs, 20 runs, two stolen bases and five walks.

On the mound, Hubbsrd was 5-3 in 11 games, including eight starts and a 1.95 ERA. He had five complete games, including two complete game shutouts with 63 strikeouts, 26 runs, 13 earned runs, and one save. The stats do not include some tournament games.

Hubbard was also the District 9 Division I Player of the Year and he is joined on the all-district first team by Yellow Jackets Connor Kessinger and Tyler Palmer.

Perrysburg’s second team all-district selections include Brayden Heitmeyer and Landon Winters. Honorable mention choices are Perrysburg’s Parker Faris and Trent Bezek.

Otsego senior catcher Tyler O’Brien is honorable mention All-Ohio in D-III. O’Brien batted .437 (31-for-71) with 29 runs, 12 RBIs, 11 doubles, one home run, 15 walks, 13 stolen bases, nine HBP, with a .579 on base percentage, .633 slugging percentage, and .983 fielding percentage.
