Snacks and juice from Connecting Kids to Meals will be served at the Bowling Green library every weekday from 3:30-4 p.m. starting Monday.

Join chess nights at the library

Chess Night is a casual, open chess meet-up for adults at the Wood County District Public Library. All skill levels are welcome at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 1 and Aug. 5.

Players will have an opportunity to learn, practice and meet other community members interested in chess.

Some chess boards will be provided (no chess clocks will be available), and bringing your own chess board is welcomed and encouraged. Registration is not required.

Read, play and dance at family storytimes

Enjoy storytime indoors at the Bowling Green Library this summer! Storytimes take place at 10:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. in The Children’s Place every Wednesday with picture book readings, songs, games and activities.

Meet local author Bettie Boswell

Join the Wood County District Public Library to meet local author Bettie Boswell on June 8 at 2 p.m. in the 2nd floor meeting room.

Boswell is a traditionally published author for all ages of readers. Her books include “On Cue,” “Free to Love” and “Hoping for Treasure” for adult readers, and “Lucy and Thunder,” “Dottie’s Dream Horse,” “Mazza Mystery” and more for kids.

This program will feature an informative and hands-on presentation with fun for children and adult readers and writers. A Q&A and book signing will follow. Books will be available for purchase.

Learn how to 3D print

If you’re interested in getting started with 3D printing, the Wood County District Public Library has the perfect course for you. Join WCDPL for a computer intermediate class to learn about 3D printing on June 10 at 2 p.m. in Meeting Room C.

This class will lead enthusiasts and beginners through the process of creating your own 3D printed objects. This class will demonstrate the process and will not be hands-on. Basic computer experience is recommended.

Kids can build during library challenges

Kids can design and build cardboard creations this summer at the Wood County District Public Library. Cardboard Construction Challenges will be held on June 13, June 27, July 11 and July 25 at 2 p.m.

Families can build using WCDPL’s safe and versatile Makedo cardboard tools to complete differentchallenges.

Challenges include:

June 13 – Plane Challenge

June 27 – Train Challenge

July 11 – Boat Challenge

July 25 – Rocket Challenge
