Builders: Construct with WCDPL’s Lego Cup Challenge

Builders, the Wood County District Public Library has the perfect challenge for you. Kids can enjoy time constructing and learning about STEAM with the Lego Cup Challenge on most Saturdays, June through July, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Drop by the Bowling Green Library Children’s Place during these days to take part in the challenge. Participants will be given a cup of Legos and an items or structure to build using as many of the Legos in their cup as possible. After building, creations will be put on display for library patrons to see.

Take a stroll through the past with Boomtown Walking Tour

Take a tour through history and learn about some of the famous places and faces of Wood County’s Boomtown Era with Wood County District Public Library’s Boomtown Walking Tour. This informative tour will be June 8 from 10 a.m. to noon.

This tour meets in the Bowling Green library atrium, rain or shine.

Take an adventure this summer with outdoor family playtimes

Families can join the Wood County District Public Library at Wooster Green this summer for outdoor family playtimes. Playtimes will be every Thursday in June and July from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Play games, enjoy activities with a different community partner each week, dance and listen to music at each playtime.

June 20 – Wood County Family and Children First Council, and Wood County Health Department

June 27 – Reach Out and Read

July 11 – Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities Early Intervention, and Help Me Grow

July 25 – Community Learning Center

Explore STEAM with Camp-in-a-Box

Families can learn more about STEAM with Camp-in-a-Box this summer.

Camp-in-a-Box: What’s Your Superpower is a weekly, STEAM-focused, hour-long program designed for students ages 5+. Sessions will be Fridays in June from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Bowling Green library Children’s Place.

Designed and funded by Ohio Learns 360 and the Ohio Department of Education, and made available to WCDPL by WBGU-PBS, students will be able to explore the traits that make them special and learn some new ways to express those superpowers in everyday life.
