Meet local author Susan Montgomery at the library

Join the Wood County District Public Library to meet local author Susan Montgomery.

Author of “The Strumming Seahorse: A Ukulele Adventure,” Montgomery will visit the library on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Meeting Room A&B.

There will be a book reading and signing, ukulele Q&A session, ukulele singalong, and ukuleles available to try out with help from the members of the Bowling Green Regional Ukulele Social Club.

Books will also be available for purchase.

“The Strumming Seahorse” tells the story of Sammy the Seahorse, who didn’t think he had any talents to share for the big ocean-wide talent show coming up. But when he finds a ukulele and takes lessons from a wide dolphin, he learns that his real talent is believing in himself.

Montgomery is an artist, author, and musician who loves the ukulele. She enjoys introducing this fun instrument to new people through her children’s books that celebrate the joy of learning to play. She also creates the illustrations, combining traditional watercolors and sketching with digital effects. She loves to play the ukulele with friends and co-founded the Bowling Green Regional Ukulele Social Club. She writes books in other genres as well, finding comfort in using her creativity to cope with chronic pain.

She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education.
