Jackets crown three champions to win PIT

PERRYSBURG — Perrysburg won its own Perrysburg Invitational Tournament, scoring 258 points to defeat second place Medina Highland (162) on Saturday.

Finishing out the top 10, of 57 teams participating, were Napoleon (159), Penn (154), Great Crossing (138), Nordonia (138), Wauseon (134), Cincinnati Moeller (105½), Toledo St. John’s (100½), and Delta (96).

Lakota was 14th with 85 points, Perrysburg Black was 24th with 57 points, Otsego was 32nd with 39 points, Rossford was 36th with 35 points, Elmwood was 41st with 21 points, and Bowling Green was 43rd with 18½ points.

Perrysburg freshman Grey Burnett (22-2) won a 113-pound championship with an 11-6 championship decision over Genoa sophomore Scott Fuller (11-5).

Perrysburg junior Cole Evans (14-2) won a 126-pound title with an 8-0 major decision in the championship against Wauseon junior Zavian Lafountain (22-5).

Perrysburg junior Marcus Blaze (24-1) defeated Toledo Waite junior Phoenix Contos (4-1), 5-1, to win the 132-pound title.

Lakota junior Braxton Quaintance (22-1) pinned Medina Highland senior Chase Crutchley (12-3) in 5:43 to win the 165-pound title.

Finishing as runners-up at the PIT were Perrysburg sophomore Ayden Dodd (17-4) at 113 and Rossford senior Ayden Wilson (15-3) at 175.

Finishing in third was Perrysburg freshman Ben Takats (28-4) at 106, Perrysburg sophomore Alex Denkins (20-2) at 120, Otsego senior Trevor Wilcox (22-2) at 126, and Lakota senior Gabe Garlick (19-3) at 175.

Fourth placer finishers included Perrysburg sophomore Brody Bauman (15-6) at 138 and Perrysburg senior Diego Chavez (15-9) at 150.

Placing fifth were senior Jake Wood (19-6) at 157, Perrysburg sophomore Shane Saito (16-7) at 165, and Perrysburg junior Josh Takats (13-9) at 190.

Placing seventh was Perrysburg senior Chris Carpenter (8-5) at 120. Lakota junior Simon Roth (15-7) placed eighth at 126.
