FOSTORIA — On Tuesday, Richard “Fred” Seabum III accepted a plea agreement for multiple counts of trafficking in drugs and was sentenced by Judge Damon D. Alt of the Seneca County Common Pleas Court to 14-19.5 years (11 years mandatory) in the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.

Tuesday’s sentence was the result of three separate drug investigations beginning on June 8, 2021, at which time a drug-related search warrant was executed at Seaburn’s residence located at 532 N. Poplar Street, Fostoria, Seneca County.

While on bond from the 2021 case, another drug-related search warrant was executed on July 21, 2022 at Seaburn’s residence located at 130 W. Lytle Street, Fostoria, Seneca County.

Lastly, while out on bond from the two previous operations from 2021 and 2022, a third drug-related search warrant was executed on May 10, 2023, at Seaburn’s residence located at 345 W. Lytle Street, Room# I, Fostoria, Seneca County.

During the three operations, a total of 5,843 grams of methamphetamine, 24 grams of fentanyl, and 4 grams of cocaine were seized from Seaburn.

“Mr. Seaburn’s history of drug trafficking in Seneca County has spanned over 20 years. His continued action over the past two decades has shown he is not amenable to changing his behavior and an extended prison sentence is the only option. The fact Mr. Seaburn will be spending a substantial amount of time behind bars for his crimes should be a reminder to those who have similar aspirations; crime doesn’t pay.” Det. Brandon Bell, Seneca County Drug Task Force, said.
