BG man cited for menacing

A Bowling Green man has been cited for menacing after threatening a juvenile.

On Wednesday around 4:05 p.m., Bowling Green police were dispatched to a report of threats that were made to a juvenile on East Poe Road near North Summit Street.

The juvenile told police he was walking home from school when Paul Merrill got out of his vehicle and approached him.

The juvenile said Merrill threatened to shoot him, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

Officers spoke with Merrill at the station, where he admitted he got out of vehicle when he saw the juvenile, who he claimed was harassing his child at school.

Merrill said he never said he would shoot the juvenile and that the frustration got to him, according to the report.

Afterwards he knew what he did was wrong, he said, according to the report.

Merrill, 38, was cited for menacing.
