Way Public Library Foundation celebrates 30 years with tours, raffles

PERRYSBURG — The Way Public Library Foundation and Friends will celebrate 30 years of supporting the library on Thursday.

The celebration includes special behind-the-scene tours, raffles and great giveaways, demonstrations, refreshments, a scavenger hunt, and more.

Register at waylibrary.info for a tour of nearly 12,000 square feet of “rarely seen” areas of Way Library, walk-ins are also welcome. There will be a tour every hour beginning at 10 a.m. with the last tour beginning at 7 p.m. On the tour, you will explore our massive deep storage that is home to thousands of library and community treasures; visit technical processing where thousands of items a month are processed for our collection; see the workings behind the circulation desk and how 100,000 items are sent and received through interlibrary loans; and get a peek at our hidden local history archives. The tour takes approximately 45 minutes. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

The drawings for our 10 great giveaways will take place at 8 p.m. No need to be present to win. There will also be hourly drawings. Every hour on the hour, the host will draw a raffle entry for a chance to win Marsha’s Buckeyes and Way Library swag. All winners of the hourly drawing will be re-entered for the 8 p.m. raffle.
