Schoenherr, Cavanaugh lead Bobcats to third place

OREGON — The Bowling Green boys golf team shot a season low 324 at Eagles Landing Golf Course but fell four strokes short of Northern Lakes League Cardinal Division champion Napoleon in the league’s championship meet Wednesday.

At Eagles Landing Golf Course, BG’s 324 tied Clay for second place in the 18-hole tournament. The tie was broken with the fifth players’ score which landed BG in third place.

Brandon Schoenherr led the way for the Bobcats with a 39-38—77, Nathan Cavanaugh with a 38-40—78, Seth Gollehon 43-49—82, Ryan Thomas 44-43—87, Lukas Green 50-43—93 and Noah Szerako-Quintero 49-48—107.

Schoenherr and Cavanaugh earned first team all-league honors and Gollehon was named to the second team.

Although they did not win the league championship because of the results at the NLL meet, Springfield had the best dual meet record at 4-1. BG, Clay, and Napoleon were all 3-2.

The final league point standings saw Napoleon finish with 24 points, followed by Clay (21), BG (18), Springfield (11), Sylvania Southview (9) and Fremont Ross (5).

In the championship meet, Napoleon shot 320, BG and Clay were at 324, followed by Southview (331), Springfield (333), and Ross (347).

Napoleon golfers were Alex Lavin (36-35—71), Brennan Babcock (43-39—82), Sean Lavin (37-48—85), Cohen Ford (40-42—82), Brock Bockelman (50-48—98) and Zayne Schwiebert (52-48—100).

Clay golfers were Brock Fussell (38-37—75), Darin Fussell (43-45—88), Kyle Rhuland (42-42—84), Ty Franke (42-43—85), Vinny Gallaher (42-38—80), and C.J. Boudreaux (47-43—90).

Springfield golfers were Joe Konczal (39-45—84), Evan Kurz (39-38—77), Dallas Allen (40-39—79), Drew Holmes (49-51—100), Bubba Burditt (54-50—104), and Milton Carswell (51-42—93).

Southview golfers were Ben Kotnik (45-40—85), Logan Willis (53-48—101), Wyatt Tuschman (40-41—81), Kyle Freels (41-41—82), Isaac Vens (41-42—83), and Ben Hood (44-41—85).

Ross golfers were Max Kelly (44-42—86), Brandon Fry (39-41—80), Robert Rich (40-47—87), Parker Brown (49-50—99), Quinn Wolf (47-48—95), and Max Durnwald (42-52—94).

AW takes Buckeye Division championship

Anthony Wayne won the NLL Buckeye Division championship, including the lowest score at the championship meet held Wednesday at Eagles Landing.

Perrysburg finished fourth in the championship meet and in the league standings. At the NLL meet, AW shot 277, followed by Sylvania Northview (307), Findlay (311), Perrysburg (321) and Toledo Whitmer (366).

In the league standings, including dual meets, AW won the title with 23 points, followed by Northview (16), Findlay (15), Perrysburg (8) and Whitmer (3). AW went 4-0 in dual meets while the Yellow Jackets went 1-3.

Perrysburg golfers at the league championships were Josh Weisenburger (38-41—79), Ryan Rettig (43-40—83), Asher Lattimore (38-44—82), Rhys Mandery (42-37—79), Elijah Morris (44-37—81), and Evan Schuck (45-42—87). Weisenburger is a second team All-NLL selection.

AW golfers at the NLL championships were Logan Sutto (34-33—67), Myles Murphy (37-35—72), Ian Briars (35-36—71), Ted Robertson (39-36-75), Michael Distefano (36-31—67), and Trevor Campbell (48-38—86). Five of the six NLL first team golfers are from AW.

Findlay golfers were Payson Dotson (39-35—74), Noah Miles (41-39—80), Sam Swisher (44-37—81), Ryan Clarke (39-40—79), Owen Metz (44-35—79), and Jamie Tate (41-38—79).

Northview golfers were Ben Graeff (42-39—81), Charlie Lutz (37-38—75), Max Crooks (36-41—77), Evan Maki (40-39—79), Adam Krajicek (40-39—79), and Bode Briggs (42-34—76).

Whitmer golfers were Alan Kujawa (38-40-78), Seth Rister (45-49—94), Connor Westray (46-47—93), Stephen Frank (54-49—103), Cameron Schiavone (51-50—101), and Camden Drabek (54-50—104).
