Grand Rapids legion hosts fish fry
GRAND RAPIDS — The American Legion Post 232 will be returning to their monthly fish fry this Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. or sold out. Eat in or carryout available.
The cost is $15 per person and rinks and desserts available.
Pemberville church serves dinner Saturday
PEMBERVILLE — Pemberville United Methodist Church will hold a carryout public dinner, Saturday from 4 p.m until sold out, 205 Perry St.
The meal will include ham loaf or meat loaf, baked potato, vegetable, roll, and homemade desserts. Donation of $12 is requested. Curbside pickup will be on Maple Street.
Middleton Township hosts annual Community Safety Day
Middleton Township will host their annual Community Safety Day on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at 21745 N. Dixie Hwy.
The fun and informational day will include the opportunity to meet emergency service personnel and view a variety of safety demonstrations.
There will be a bounce house, raffles, sidewalk chalk art, show plow painting and food trucks.
Final paving of West Wooster Street has started
The installation of the water and sewer mains along West Wooster Streen and Haskins Road have been completed.
Beginning Tuesday, the contractor responsible for paving the final driving surface began milling the top 3 inches of roadway and will replace it with new asphalt from curb to curb along West Wooster Street between Church Street and Haskins Road and Haskins Road between West Wooster and Parker Street.
The intersections at Poe Road and Wallace Avenue will be completed during this timeframe as well.
Intermittent lane closures should be expected as this work progresses. It’s expected that this project will be completed by the end of the month. Completion date is dependent on weather and progress of work.
