Start visual journaling with WCDPL
Are you interested in starting your own visual diary? Join the Wood County District Public Library for Dear Diary: Journal Through Art on Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. in Meeting Room A&B at the Bowling Green library to get started on your own journal.
This is for artists, the nature-inspired, or anyone who loves to create. A visual diary is a way to connect your ideas, your daily inspirations, and memories all into one place. This program is inspired by Journal Sparks: Fire Up Your Creativity with Spontaneous Art, Wild Writing, and Inventive Thinking by Emily K. Neuburger. This nonfiction book is available at WCDPL and includes ideas on how to create your journal, which you’ll start in this program.

North Baltimore library offers free movie
NORTH BALTIMORE — North Baltimore Public Library’s free movie for September will be “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” showing on Sept. 20 at the Virginia Theater located at 119 N. Main St.
The storyline follows a London film-maker who documents her best friend’s journey into an assisted marriage following his family’s Pakistani heritage. In the process, she challenges her own attitude towards relationships.
It has a run time of 1 hour and 45 minutes and a rating of PG-13. The theater doors will open at 5:30 p.m., with the movie starting at 6 p.m.

Roche de Boeuf Festival celebrates 50 years
WATERVILLE — This is the 50th year for the annual Roche de Boeuf Festival to be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 23 throughout downtown Waterville.
This annual event celebrates Waterville and its history with a day of music, food, and fun activities.
The official RDB parade kicks off at 10 a.m. and proceeds down Farnsworth Road to River Road. The streets will be filled with local artisan and craft vendors, food trucks, and interactive experiences.
Many other activities will be available for attendees of all ages. Inflatables, a scavenger hunt, face painting, and mascots will be featured in the Children’s Area. The Waterville Historical Society will provide their Haunted Waterville Horse & Trolley rides, military reenactments, and demonstrations.
Three different bands are scheduled to perform throughout the day near the beer garden in Parker’s Square. Car enthusiasts can enjoy viewing a variety of specialty automobiles at the car show in the parking lot of Shawn’s Irish Tavern.
RDB souvenir T-shirts, designed by area artist Jason Chappuies, can be purchased at the chamber’s website and will be available for sale at the information booth during the festival. As an added convenience, a free shuttle service is available all day at Conrad Park, next to the Waterville Library, and at Waterville Landing at Michigan Avenue and Waterville-Monclova Roads.

ProMedica Fostoria hospital foundation hosts A Taste of Italy
FOSTORIA — The ProMedica Fostoria Community Hospital Foundation is hosting its signature fundraising event this year themed, A Taste of Italy, on Oct. 5 at 5:30 p.m. at Stacy’s Place in Fostoria. The event proceeds will be going towards supporting community health initiatives.
This year’s Taste of Italy event will offer a grazing dinner and dessert station, celebrity servers, silent auctions and a wine grab. Reserved dinner tables and tickets are available, along with sponsorship opportunities.
