Generals down Bobcats, 35-6

WHITEHOUSE — Visiting Bowling Green suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Anthony Wayne, 35-6, in a non-league game Friday.

After a game that saw a Northern Lakes League Cardinal Division team (BG) face an NLL Buckeye Division team (AW), the Bobcats fall to 2-1 while AW improves to 2-1.

BG got its only touchdown on a 10-yard run by running back Reece Rath with 6:29 remaining in the third quarter, making it a one-possession game with the Generals leading 14-7. But AW scored three TDs unanswered, including two in the fourth quarter.

AW opened scoring on a 12-yard run by Cadence Carswell and then Grant Kinnee scored on an 86-yard run as the Generals opened a 14-0 first quarter lead.

After Rath’s TD, Kinnee threw a five-yard TD pass to Winn Sharp, a 20-yard TD pass to Landon Gates, and Carswell scored on a two-yard run.

For the Bobcats, Rath finished with 78 yards rushing on 14 carries, Peyton Harris had 74 yards on 17 carries, Ja’ceous Shannon had 68 yards on 16 carries, and Jackson Shafer ran for 41 yards on nine carries.

BG quarterback Jamison Horst completed 3-of-8 passes for 33 yards, including one to Will Brose for 15 yards, one to Shannon for 10 yards, and one to Shafer for eight yards.
