Reading pays: Sign-up for a library card this September

0

Treat yourself to free books, magazines, movies and more by signing up for a library card. From borrowing books, eBooks, and audiobooks to getting homework help, learning new skills, or attending a book club or storytime, a library card helps you do more of what you love.

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, and the Wood County District Public Library wants you to get your very own library card. Now through Sept. 30, WCDPL is holding a raffle for a $250 gift card. To be entered for a chance to win, stop by the Bowling Green Library, Walbridge Library, or the WCDPL Bookmobile and sign-up for a WCDPL library card.

A library card is a perfect way to discover, create, learn, and explore. With a library card, you can:

• Check out books, movies, music, and more by browsing at the library, or place items on hold for curbside pickup.

• Access WCDPL OverDrive for the latest eBooks and audiobooks.

• Get movies, music, magazines, picture books, and more instantly using Hoopla, Flipster, and Tumblebooks.

• Explore children’s book recommendations, STEAM kits, and more from the Children’s Place.

• Browse adult reading recommendations, get technology help, and more from the Information Services librarians.

• Discover the items in the Library of Things, which includes giant games, technology items, gadgets, and more.

• Refer to research databases, including Local History Collection and genealogy database.

• Join in on a variety of programs that the whole family will enjoy.

Getting your library card is easy. Visit the WCDPL website at wcdpl.org/library-card-information to learn how.
