BG man reportedly loses $2,000 in online scam

A Bowling Green man reported Friday that he lost $2,000 in a scam.

A Bowling Green Police Division officer took a report that the man received a message in social media.

He was told that if he deposited $1,000 he would earn $4,000 in seven days.

He said he had lengthy conversations with a woman about the investment opportunity.

In total, he sent $2,000 to the investment account using Bitcoin and cyber currency, according to the police report.

The officer advised the man to contact his bank, change his passwords and block the woman from his social media.
