BG home burglarized and vandalized

Police responded to a burglary of a city home last weekend.

On June 10 at 10:30 p.m., Bowing Green police were called to the 300 block of North Summit Street for a burglary complaint.

One resident told police she left the house on April 28 and received a text from a neighbor on June 8 that a window leading to the kitchen was open.

Another resident said when she left the house on May 1, all the windows were shut, and the front and side doors were double locked.

The landlord on June 8 entered the house and found multiple lights on, multiple doors open, the front door unlocked and the television on.

He turned everything off and locked the house back up.

A resident arrived home on June 10 and found items moved and broken, according to the Bowling Green Police Division report.

When officers entered the home, the living room and bedrooms were disheveled, the dining room table was broken and the kitchen window screen was on the ground along with broken glass.

A resident walked through the home after it was cleared by police and said a six pack of White Claw that had been in the fridge was missing. A 20-ounce bottle of cherry Pepsi on the counter and a crushed Four Loko can on the floor did not belong to any of the residents, according to the report.

A wall in one of the bedrooms had two holes in it, all four bedrooms were disheveled, and a blueberry watermelon Breeze found in the trash can did not belong to any of the residents.

A pair of white Nike socks found on a shelf also did not belong to any of the residents.
