Wanda L. Iamele

Wanda L. Iamele, 85, of Luckey, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2023 at her daughter’s home in Port Orange, FL.

She was born on November 7, 1937 in Michigan to Ronald and Jennie (VanDerMuelen) Whitmill. She later attended Whitmire High School and on November 10, 1956 Wanda married Louis E. Iamele in Temperance, MI. Wanda and Louis raised 2 daughters and celebrated 57 years of marriage before Louis’ passing in 2013.

In addition to being a homemaker, taking care of her children and husband, Wanda, worked outside of the home first at Woolworth and later for Western Union 21 years. When you would have thought she was retiring to Florida, she went back to work at Daytona Community College. What little free time she had, she enjoyed making ceramics and taking trips with her husband Louis, and later years she took annual trips with her sisters. Nevertheless, it was her family, especially her grandchildren that remained her first love.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Cynthia (Mike) Franklin of Luckey and Brandi (Mike) Woodlee of FL. Grandsons: Jason (Stacy) Franklin, Steve (Bridget) Franklin and Joseph (Noelle) Franklin. Granddaughters: Mariah (Donny) Hemby and Emily Woodlee, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Sisters: Melva Smith, Donna (Roger) Adams, Linda (Denny) Skiles, Ronalda Whitmill and Vera Gregory.

In addition to her husband, Louis, she was preceded in death by her parents, infant granddaughter, Britney Franklin, sisters: Trudy Perry and Sharon Zablocki.

Family and friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the Marsh & Marsteller Funeral Home, 110 W. Main Street, Luckey, OH.
