On June 3, 1951 she married Lowen H. Meyer at Zion Lutheran Church in Luckey, OH. Betty and Lowen raised
four children and celebrated nearly 54 years of marriage before Lowen’s passing in March of 2005.
In addition to being a mother, wife and homemaker, Betty worked the first 10 years of her nursing career
at Flower Hospital. Betty then became the office manager and co-owner of Meyer Electric with Lowen until
their retirement.
Betty was a member of the Flower Hospital School of Nursing Alumni and an active member of Zion Lutheran
Church where she was involved in such ministries as the Women of the Church and the choir. Betty lived
out her faith through her community involvement and service to others.

members of the Luckey Garden Club; a member of the women’s golf league at Tanglewood Golf Course; and
Betty was instrumental in bringing the famous Waldo Burger to the Luckey Fall Festival. Betty and Lowen
were also very active in a group of local Luckey citizens that started the Luckey Library, which was
dedicated in April 1990.
While Betty dedicated herself to doing for others, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren
brought her the most joy.
Betty is survived by her children: Sharon (Jack) Koehler of Grove City, OH; Rick (Lisa) Meyer of
Pemberville, OH; Marsha (Richard) Nelson of Luckey, OH; Brenda (David) Monroe of Quincy, MI. Betty was
