Mary Lou Peper

Mary Lou Peper, age 89, of Holgate, died Wednesday evening, June 12, 2019 at Vancrest of Holgate.
Her Legacy … She was born June 17, 1929 to Earl George Sr. and Effie Lena (Knapp) Ott in Defiance. On May
29, 1949, she married William Hall Peper in Defiance.
Mary Lou was employed at First Federal Bank, Defiance, was a child support clerk at the Henry County
Courthouse and a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holgate.
Her Family … Mary Lou is survived by her four daughters, Nancy (Scott) Zimmer, Napoleon, Janet Peper
Drozd, North Praire, WI, Mary Ann (Pete) Mendez, Holgate, and Carol (Jeffrey) Peper Sawyer, Bowling
Green; four grandchildren, Evan (Kate) Mendez, Weston Mendez, Gretchen Sommer and Peter (Cortney) Drozd;
great-grandson, Ty Mendez; stepgreat-grandchildren, Kylie and Brady Wortham; and sister Shirley Dale.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Earl George Ott Jr., Eileen Frieda (Ott) Huber,
and Dorothy Baringer; a grandson, Andrew; infant daughter, Patricia Anne Peper; and her husband, Bill,
on June 15, 2016.
Her Farewell Services … Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William St.,
Holgate on Sunday from 3-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the church service. The celebration of Mary Lou’s
life will be on her birthday, Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11 a.m. in St. Peter Lutheran Church, Holgate
with Reverend Dana Bjorlin officiating.
Burial will be at a later date.
Contributions made in Mary Lou’s memory can be made to the Putnam County Hospice, Vancrest Activities
Fund, or the Ronald McDonald House.
