Nancy L. Sworden Sabo, age 89, of Bellevue, Ohio, formerly of Bradner, Ohio passed away on Friday (May
10, 2019) at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg, Ohio.
She was born on April 21, 1930 in Bradner, Ohio to the late Robert and Gertrude (Feasel) Fairbanks. Her
mother preceded her in death at childbirth. She married Arthur “Bud” Sworden on June 18, 1949 and he
passed away on October 27, 1986. She married Charles Sabo in 1993.
She was a 1948 graduate of Bradner High School and then went to Warners Beauty College in Toledo, Ohio.
She was a beautician for several years and then was a teacher’s aide and librarian aide for 27 years at
Lakota West School formerly called Bradner Elementary School, where she retired in 1990.
Surviving are her husband Charles; daughters, Glenda (Neil) Gearhart of Bowling Green, Ohio, Marla
(James) Hagemeyer of Norwalk, Ohio; grandchildren, Adam (Addie) Gearhart, Lauren Gearhart, Matthew
(Emily) Hagemeyer, Bradley Hagemeyer; great-grandchildren, Oliver & Josie; half brother, Gary
Fairbanks of Bradner, Ohio; half sister, Ketha Yencer of Michigan; 5 step-children and their
grandchildren & great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert; stepmother, Bertha (Molnar) Fairbanks.
Friends will be received from 1-2 p.m. Saturday (May 18, 2019) at Barndt Funeral Home in Wayne, Ohio
where a Celebration of Life will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Justin Jump officiating. Burial will be in
Bradner Cemetery near Bradner, Ohio.
