Steven D. Newman, 62, of Bowling Green, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Hospice of Northwest
Ohio, Perrysburg.
He was born May 14, 1957 in Fostoria, to Neal and Irene (Cain) Newman. He married Linda Wunderlin on June
15, 1977 in Tiffin, and she survives him in Fostoria.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven D. Newman II, of Columbus, and Chad (Caitlin) Newman, of Findlay; one
daughter, Jessica Thompson, of Fostoria; three grandchildren, Jacob ( Mayling) Thompson, Jacqueline
Thompson, and Chloe Newman; one great-granddaughter, Noelle; two brothers, Larry (Betty) Newman, of
Maine, and Robert (Christine) Newman, of California; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Newman, of California.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Neal and Irene, one brother, Charles Newman, and a sister,
Chantay Feehan-Newman.
Steven was a 1976 Fostoria High School graduate. He worked for Lubrizol in Bowling Green for 19 years,
and in his leisure was a “homebody,” staying close to home, watching television and spending time with
his family. A quiet, reserved man, he was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
A Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Mann-Hare-Hoening
Funeral Home, Fostoria, beginning at 1 p.m., with an hour of memorial gathering prior to the service.
Pastor Jerry Copeland will officiate.
