Whitney to talk about her photographic memories
Photographer Lynn Whitney will reflect on her body of work and her philosophy in a talk "Make It
Small, See the Silver" Monday at 5 p.m. in the Donnell Theatre at the Wolfe Center for the Arts at
Bowling Green State University.
Whitney, head of the photography division in the BGSU School of Art, received a =commission in 2009 from
the philanthropic George Gund Foundation in Cleveland to photograph the lakefront in Cuyahoga County for
its annual report.
A native of Massachusetts, Whitney has taught at BGSU since 1987. In her Legends talk, she will share
some of that journey with her audience.
Toledo Rep to present dramatic reading of ‘Detroit’
TOLEDO – The Toledo Rep will present an Edgy Rep Reading of the play "Detroit" Friday and
Saturday at 8 p.m. at the Valentine’s Studio A theatre, 410 Adams Street.
Written in 2010 by Lisa D’Amour, "Detroit" is a blistering, quirky and humorous look at two
suburban couples as they walk a tightrope between boredom and self-destruction in their quest for upward
mobility in a time of economic anxiety.
The cast, directed by Jennifer Rockwood, includes John DuVall, Cindy Bilby, Lane Hakel, Kate Abu-Absi and
Jeffrey J. Albright and Qarie Marshall.

Junior Jazzers hold auditions
PERRYSBURG – Perrysburg Musical Theatre Junior Jazzers will hold auditions for fifth and sixth graders
Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. at the Commodore Beck Auditorium
Those auditioning should come prepared to sing "Do-Re-Mi (Doe a Deer)" or "Happy
Birthday."
The cost is $35 for the year.
Toledo Symphony features Haydn concerto for cello
SYLVANIA – The Toledo Symphony Orchestra will perform a  Mozart and More concert Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Franciscan Center at Lourdes University, 6832 Convent Blvd.
Conducted by Sameer Patel, the orchestra will perform "Soirees Musicales after Rossini" by
Benjamin Britten, Cello Concerto No. 1 by Franz Joseph Haydn featuring Julian Schwarz, cello, and
Symphony No. 39 by W.A, Mozart.

Tatum Society ready to ‘Ignite the Jazz Night’
TOLEDO – Vocalist Atla DeChamplain and pianist Matt DeChamplain will present a special "Ignite the
Jazz Night" Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Red Room of the Toledo Club.
Bassist Paul Keller will perform with the duo in this special Jazz on the Maumee event.
Tickets are $30, $20 for members of the Art Tatum Heritage Jazz Society and $10 for students.
