Long’s students play piano from ‘romantic era’GRAND RAPIDS – "Isn’t It Romantic" is the
theme for the annual piano recital presented by the students of Lynne E. Long.All students will be playing
selections from the romantic era. The program will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the First Presbyterian
Church.Students performing will be Nathaniel Born, Ava Bowen, Jacob Caris, Sara Caris, Abby Eberly, Jacob
Fritz, Sedona Head, Abigail Hergert, Joshua Hergert, Matthew Hergert, Ruth Hergert, Gabriella Hoag, Jason
Hoag, Bethany Horen, Jason Jones, Zach Jones, Mary Grace Korducki, Sarah Korducki, Alexander Landgraf,
Marissa Langley, Christian Morgan, Micha Shank, Brooke Simon, Morgan Simon, Alyson Yaney and Moira
Yaney.Senior Matthew Hergert will be honored, and Jacob Caris, Gabriella Hoag, and Jason Hoag will receive
five-year recital trophies. A reception will follow. The public is invited to attend.PRIZM offers watercolor
techniques workshopWHITEHOUSE – PRIZM Creative Community is sponsoring a Watercolor Dry-Brush Techniques
Workshop during the month of May.The class will be taught by Brenda Baker, and be offered in two sessions.
Students can elect to take either or both sessions. Participants with prior art experience will enjoy
learning a system of using multiple layers, and small brushes to achieve detail, and realism using
Watercolor medium.Session 1 will be offered on two consecutive Tuesdays, next week and May 21 from 6 to 8:30
p.m. Session 2 will take place on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with an hour break for lunch.Participants
