Black Swamp Players announce shows for 2013-2014The Black Swamp Players have announced the
2013-2014 season.Scheduled to be staged in the First Methodist Church on East Wooster in Bowling Green are:•
"The Black Bonspiel of Wullie MacCrimmon," by O.M. Mitchell, directed by Dennis East, weekends
Sept. 13-22.• "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," by Barbara Robinson, directed by Janet and Guy
Zimmerman, weekends Dec. 12-14.• "My Fair Lady," book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner and music by
Frederick Loewe, udirected by Kevin Cagle, weekends Feb. 14-23.• "The Fox On The Fairway," by Ken
Ludwig, directed by Bob Hastings, March 28-30 and April 4-6.Also, a group of independent adjudicators
selected "A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody" from the just concluded season as the Players’ entry
in the Northwest Ohio Community Theater Association Regional Festival in Fort Jennings, the weekend of June
8 and 9.Music at Market kicks offPERRYSBURG – West Central Quartet from Indiana will play jazz and pop in
the opening concert of the Music at the Market series, June 6 from 7 to 8 p.m.The concerts are held on the
lawn of Commodore Square Park, located on the corner of Louisiana and Indiana in downtown Perrysburg. The
concert moves into the Judy Beck Auditorium in the event of inclement weather.Band members are: Andrew
Stout, vocals, Jim Steele pianist, Patrick Gillan, upright bass, and Doug Laughlin , drums.Summer music
lessonsoffered at Sonfire cafePEMBERVILLE – Blues guitarist Ben Miller will be giving music lessons this
summer starting Tuesday at SonFire by the River Cafe Church, 222 E. Front St.Lessons are available in
acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums and mandolin.Cost is $15 a lesson, free for the first session.Call
Miller at (419) 410-6621.Bakers host recital in atriumViolinist Grace Baker and pianist Walter Baker will
host a recital of their students Saturday at 2 p.m. in the atrium of the Wood County Public Library.Among
those performing are Elizabeth and Brooklyn Hessey, whose mother, Kirsten, studied with Grace Baker. The
mother will also perform.Also performing will be Angel Thompson, whio has just completed her first year at
Bowling Green State University where she now studies with Vasile Beluska. Other performers are: Estella
Burns, Cali Burns, Jerzi Harvis, Caitelyn Nguyen, Isiah Gladden, Magdalena Meszaros, Courtney Bruckner and
Tad McKanna.Beth Ziss celebrates25 years blowing glassFINDLAY – Artist Beth Ziss celebrates 25 years of
glass art with an exhibit "Glass Fusions – Texture, Color, Light" at the Findlay Art League, 117
West Crawford St.The show will feature glass artwork, including jewelry, art glass bowls, collectible
Depression glass works and new fused glass portraits.The show opens June 7, from 5 to 9 p.m. with a
reception and continues through June 15 with gallery hours from noon to 6 p.m.
