Voice students to perform Brown Bag series concertVoice students of the studio Chelsea Cloeter at
Bowling Green State University’ College of Musical Arts will perform a Brown Bag Music Series concert Friday
from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Simpson Building, 1291 Conneaut Ave.Listeners are invited to bring their
lunch to the events sponsored by the city Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with BGSU.Drinks

Bowersox will perform the National Anthem at the Toledo Walleye game Sunday at 5 p.m. as part of a Pink in
the Rink event to raise awareness of breast cancer.The Elliston native and "American Idol"
runner-up in the ninth season of "American Idol."She is in town for a concert Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
at the SeaGate Center to benefit the Toledo School for the Arts, which she attended.Bowersox is involved in
the development of the musical "Always … Patsy Cline" which is expected to debut on Broadway
this summer, though dates and a theater have not been announced.Jazz orchestra pays tribute to Oscar-winning
musicTOLEDO – The Toledo Jazz Orchestra will perform "Night at the Oscars" Saturday at 8 p.m. at
the Valentine Theatre.The show will guide the audience through Oscar-winning musical moments including
"West Side Story Medley" that was arranged by Bill Reddie for Buddy Rich’s big band.The concert
also will feature Rob Smith, trumpet soloist from Woody Herman’s band; Mike Williams, lead trumpeter from
the Count Basie Orchestra; and Scott Lavender, music director and accompanist for Johnny Mathis. Vocalist
Kelly Broadway will also join the band for several arrangements.The band will play arrangements of from the
books of Count Basie, Woody Herman and Tommy Dorsey orchestra.The program includes winners of the Best
Original Song Oscar including "Over the Rainbow," "All the Way," "Moon River,"
"Secret Love," "Days of Wine and Roses," "Evergreen," "The Shadow of Your
Smile" and "As Time Goes By."The Toledo Junior Jazz Orchestra, featuring high school students
from the greater Toledo area, will play in the theater’s lobby beginning at 7:15 p.m. and then take the
stage to open the second half of the concert.Tickets are $22 to $32 and are available at

perform its mid-winter concert Sunday at 3 p.m. at Woodmore High School, 633 Fremont St.The band will be
conducted by Jonathon Waters a 1994 graduate of Woodmore High School and now director of marching and
athletic Bands at The Ohio State University.Christopher Hines, a senior at Woodmore High School. will lead
the North Coast Concert Band in the premier performance of his composition "Rain."Silver screen
tunes, steps featured in musical revueTOLEDO – "Hooray For Hollywood," a musical revue, will be
staged at the Stranahan Theatre Wednesday at 2 p.m.The show recreates more than 30 songs and dances from the
movies live on stage.The show features songs from "Singing in the Rain," "The Glenn Miller
Story," "Titanic" and "Hairspray."From the creators of Spirit of the Dance, this
all new production features a stunning cast of singers and dancers and has the audience singing and dancing
