‘Planet Lovetron’ to tape an episode for television

Luis Chaluisan, host of the weekly show “Planet Lovetron” on WBGU-FM, is exploring a way to bring
his venture to television.The show’s haf-hour pilot will be taped July 11 at 6:30 p.m. during a free,
all-ages, no-alcohol show at Grumpy Dave’s, 104 S. Main St., Bowling Green.The goal of the show Chaluisan
said is to promote the performing talentin Northwest Ohio. The local area, he said, has as much talent as
otherplaces such as Ann Arbor. “It’s just not as hyped, not ascommercialized.”He’s working with the
California production team CVP Productions andproducers Thomas Martinez, formerly of Bowling Green, and
Michael T.Best.He said he wants to bring a taste of all genres including rock, gospel,hip hop and jazz.
Performers set for the first show include SuspiciousBehavior, which he said would serve as the house band,
comedian TimSouth, and musicians David Nabinger.Chaluisan, who uses the stage name El Extreme, will serve as
host,though he said he’d hope to bring in some young bilingual talent fromBowling Green State University, to
serve as hosts if the show getspicked up.He said he was exploring distribution through public television.In
addition to the local talent, Chaluisan will draw on his ties withSalsa Magazine to include a video from
international salsa performers.
