shown at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater of Hanna Hall.Noted 91-year-old jazz guitarist Mundell Lowe,
known for his harmonically rich and mellow sound, will perform at 8 p.m. at the Clazel Theatre, 127 N. Main
St., Bowling Green. He has performed with artists including Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker and Barry Manilow
as well as in Hollywood studios.THURSDAYThe International Film Series features the 2002 film "Russian
Ark" at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater This one-take, 90-minute movie moves through the St.
Petersburg’s State Hermitage Museum in Russia and includes 867 actors, thousands of extras and three live
orchestras.Poet Denise Duhamel will read from her work at 7:30 p.m. at Prout Chapel. She creates free verse
and fixed-form poems that intertwine traditional poetry with pop culture.The piano and percussion quartet
Hammer/Klavier, with piano faculty member Thomas Rosenkranz, will perform the world premiere of Paul
Lansky’s "Textures" at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. The composer
will discuss the work.FRIDAYThe Concert Band, directed by Dr. Carol Hayward, performs with the Graduate
Brass Quintet, the Trombone Choir and the Clarinet Choir at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical
Arts Center.SUNDAYViolinist Dr. Penny Thompson Kruse will perform at 3 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.Lillian
Gish is featured in the Gish Film Theater’s Sunday matinee "Miss Susie Slagle’s" at 3 p.m. in the
Gish Film Theater. Miss Slagle (Gish’s character) runs a boarding house for medical students in 1910
Baltimore. One of her students falls in love with an intern before contracting a fatal disease.OCT. 7Guest
pianist Sang Woo Kang will perform at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. A
graduate of Juilliard and the Eastman School of Music, he teaches at Providence College and has performed
around the world.OCT. 8The 1938 Alfred Hitchcock film "The Lady Vanishes" will be screened at 7:30
p.m. in the Gish Film Theater.AT THE GALLERIES"Consumed: Nourishment and Indulgence" continues
through Oct. 9 in the Willard Wankelman Gallery of the Fine Arts Center. In Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery,
"FOCUS" displays the artwork of gifted high school artists from northwest Ohio and southeast
Michigan. On display through Saturday. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 6 to 9
p.m. Thursdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.
