Jazz trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis to speak at Toledo Museum of Art

TOLEDO – Jazz trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis, a member of one of the music industry’s most notable
families, will visit the Toledo Museum of Art on Thursday for two free events.At 2 p.m., Marsalis will
entertain families with a reading of his newly released children’s picture book, "No Cell Phone
Day," which tells what happens when Marsalis’ daughter challenges him to a tech-free afternoon in their
New Orleans hometown.At 7 p.m., Marsalis will talk about what inspires him and how those inspirations impact
his work in a free presentation called "Be Creative, It’s Cool Like Jazz."On Wednesday Marsalis
will be the featured performer at Party Like It’s Mardi Gras at 7:30 p.m. at Best Western Premier Grand
Plaza Hotel, 444 North Summit St.The event sponsored by the Art Tatum Jazz Society includes music by
Marsalis and friends and a tasting buffet of New Orleans specialties.Tickets are $65 for concert and buffet
and $85 including an after party with the musicians. Jazz society members get a $10 discount.Reservations
