Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.FRIDAYAn opening reception for the Master of Fine Art
Thesis Exhibition I will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. The artwork will be displayed in the Dorothy Uber Bryan
and Willard Wankelman galleries of the Fine Arts Center. The exhibit will officially open on April 13 and
will continue through April 21. Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m.
Thursdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays.Violinist Jason DePue, violin, with pianist Laura Melton will perform a
guest recital at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall. The Program includes music by Wallace DePue Sr., Johannes
Brahms, Bela Bartok, Maurice Ravel and John Williams.SATURDAYThe opening reception of "Dorothy Bryan:
The Chemo Paintings" will be from 5-7 p.m. in the Dorothy Uber Bryan Gallery Foyer of the Fine Arts
Center. Bryan created the artwork as she dealt with breast cancer diagnosis and treatment in 1989. She died
from the cancer in 2001 but is remembered through her artwork. On display through April 29. Gallery hours
are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, and 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. FreeThe
University Choral Society will perform with the Lima Symphony Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. For ticket information,

under the direction of Bruce Moss at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. On the
program Paul Hindemith’ "Symphony for Band, Gordon Jacob’s "Flag of Stars," Frank Ticheli’s
"Rest," Joe Spaniola’s "Escapade’ and a transcription of "La Belle Helene" by
Offenbach.SUNDAYBoth the University and Concert Bands will perform at 3 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore
Musical Arts Center. FreeThe A Cappella Choir will perform under the direction of Mark Munson at 7 p.m. in
First Presbyterian Church, 126 S. Church St., in Bowling Green. The featured work will be a setting of Psalm
139 ("You have searched me, Lord") by Swedish composer Sven-David Sandstr??m, who was recently in
residence on campus. Also to be performed are: Felix Mendelssohn’s "Heilig" for double choir;
"Cantus gloriosus" by contemporary Polish composer Josef Swider, and three pieces celebrating the
sacred repertoire of the African-American culture.The Sunday Matinee series’ feature will be the 1941 film
"The Devil and Daniel Webster" Walter Huston as the devil and Edward Arnold as orator and
statesman Daniel Webster. Show begins at 3 p.m. in Gish Film Theater in Hanna Hall.APRIL 16The Graduate
String Quartet and the voice students of Sean Cooper will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Manor House in
Wildwood Metropark of Toledo.Bowling Green State University percussion students will perform under the
direction of Roger Schupp. The performance begins at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of the Moore Musical Arts
Center.
