Deadline for ‘From the Top" applications fast approachingApplications for young musicians
wishing to audition for the local live taping of National Public Radio’s program "From the Top"
are due by June 28.The applications are at www.fromthetop.org. The taping will occur on Sept. 28 in Kobacker
Hall on the Bowling Green State University campus as part of the Festival Series.Classical musicians ages
8-18 who have not yet graduated from high school are eligible for the program. Young performers can audition
as soloists (including vocalists), instrumental or vocal ensembles, or as composers who have a piece they
wish to have performed.There is a $50 application fee.Park show features songwriterSinger-songwriter Kerry
Patrick Clark will perform folk and original tunes Sunday at 7 p.m, at the Needle Hall Stage in Bowling
Green City Park.Owens hosting harp concertAmerican Harp Society Day Ensemble Concert will be presented June
20 at 7 p.m. in the Center for Fine and Performing Arts’ Mainstage Theatre off Oregon Road in Perrysburg
Township.The concert is the culmination of Harp Week, which is four days starting June 17 of ensemble
rehearsals and practical application workshops sponsored in part by the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the
American Harp Society and the College’s Center for Fine and Performing Arts.Harp Week is open to any harpist
who has played for at least one year.Harpists ranging from beginners to professionals will perform familiar
and original tunes throughout the evening concert.Among those performing are Hannah Kloster and Kaitlynn

artist of the month.Midwest meets the Eastin new art exhibitionTOLEDO – Intangible, an exhibit featuring the
ink and graphite renderings of Ian J. Welch, opens Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. LeSo Gallery, 1527 Starr
Ave.Welch is a Bowling Green State University graduate who will be attending Northern Illinois University.
The exhibition mixes eastern aesthetics with Midwestern landscape and experimental technique. The work hints
at seemingly familiar spaces yet absent is a sense of place, leaving the viewer with an intangible sense of
the unknown.The exhibit closes July 12 with a reception and artist talk from 7 to 9 p.m.Gallery hours are

Broadway’TOLEDO – The Toledo Rep will hold auditions for "Forbidden Broadway" June 23 from 6 to 8
p.m. at the theater at 16 Tenth Street.Deb Calabrese will direct and choreograph. The show calls for two
adult men and two adult women.Those interested in auditioning should posses a flair for comic timing, and
are asked to prepare 16 bars from an up-tempo contemporary Broadway musical, and come dressed prepared to
