TODAY
A forum to discuss the work of Festival Series performers Alarm Will Sound will be
held at 7:15 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.
Alarm Will Sound, a 20-member new music ensemble, will perform at 8 p.m. in Kobacker
Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center. Ticket prices for the concert range from

THURSDAY
Alarm Will Sound will read compositions by student composers from 10 a.m. to 1:15
p.m. followed by a question and answer session starting at 1:30 p.m. both in
Kobacker Hall.
Visiting writer Sarah Gambito reads from her poetry at 7:30 p.m. in Prout Chapel. She
has published two poetry collections, "Delivered" and
"Matadora."
FRIDAY & SATURDAY
BGSU Opera Theater presents "Hercules" at 8 p.m. both nights in the Donnell
Theatre of the Wolfe Center for the Arts. Director Ronald Shields, chair of the
BGSU Department of Theatre and Film, adapted Handel’s oratorio into a
contemporary opera. The performance is a collaboration between the theatre
department and the College of Musical Arts Admission is free but tickets are
required; call (419) 372-2719.
SATURDAY
The Bowling Green State University Film Organization hosts the Film and Media
Festival, beginning at 2 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater of Hanna Hall. Student
work will be screened, and film professionals will host workshops.
SUNDAY
A double feature of Westerns from 1917 will be screened at 3 p.m. in Gish Film
Theater in Hanna Hall. On the program are "The Narrow Trail," directed
by Lambert Hillyer and starring William S. Hart and "Bucking Broadway"
directed by John Ford and starring Harry Carey.
The Chamber Music Competition winners perform in the Great Gallery of the Toledo
Museum of Art at 3 p.m. Winners are a trio of piano, flute nd clarinet, a trio
of piano, violin and clarinet, a saxophone quartet and a woodwind quintet.
APRIL 2
The Student Composers Forum presents compositions by undergraduate and graduate
students at 8 p.m. in the Bryan Recital Hall of the Moore Musical Arts Center.

APRIL 3
The 1984 film "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension,"
directed by W.D. Richter, will be screened at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater
In the film a rock musician, neurosurgeon and physicist form a band called The
Hong Kong Cavaliers and save the world from an alien attack.
The Chamber Music Competition graduate and undergraduate winners will perform at 7:30
p.m. perform at Wildwood Metropark in Toledo as part of the Music at the Manor
House series.
The Jazz Guitar Ensemble performs at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
APRIL 4
The Steel Drum Ensemble performs at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall.
APRIL 5
Paul Livingstone on sitar and Hom Nath Upadhyaya on tabla with the university’s tabla
ensemble directed by Rob Wallace will perform a concert of Indian music at 8
p.m. in the Arts Village in Kreischer Quad.
AT THE GALLERIES
The BFA Senior Thesis Exhibition continues in the Dorothy Uber Bryan and Willard
Wankelman galleries in the Fine Arts Center through April 3. Gallery hours are
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays, and 1-4 p.m. Sundays.
