TONIGHT
Tuesdays at the Gish continues with “My Man Godfrey.” This 1936 screwball comedy
directed by Gregory La Cava and starring William Powell and Carole Lombard
highlights class differences during the Depression era. The film starts at 7:30
p.m. in the Gish Film Theater at Hanna Hall. Free
WEDNESDAY
Renowned bass-baritone Samuel Ramey will conduct a master class for BGSU voice
students at 7 p.m. in the Donnell Theatre of the Wolfe Center for the Arts. The
class is open to the public for observation. Ramey is the 2012-13 Helen McMaster
Endowed Professor in Vocal and Choral Performance and is in residence at the
College of Musical Arts.
BGSU faculty will give scholarly and research presentations on a number of topics
during the Faculty Scholar Series at 8 p.m. in Bryan Recital Hall at the Moore
Musical Arts Center. Free
THURSDAY
McMaster Guest Artist Samuel Ramey will share his stories and take questions about
his life as an opera singer starting at 7 p.m. in the Donnell Theatre of the
Wolfe Center for the Arts. WGTE’s Brad Cresswell will host the event. Free
The International Film Series continues this week with the 1999 Chinese film “Xizao
(Shower).” Directed by Yang Zhang, the movie reveals the conflict between
tradition and modernity in Chinese culture as expressed by the relationship
between an aging father and his son. The film starts at 7:30 in the Gish Film
Theater at Hanna Hall. Free
Master of Fine Arts students Karissa Morton and Jason Hudnell read from their work at
7:30 p.m. at Prout Chapel.
FRIDAY
Guest artist and flutist Christine Guenther will perform in Bryan Recital Hall at the
Moore Musical Arts Center starting at 8 p.m. Free
SATURDAY
The University Activities Organization and the College of Musical Arts present vocal
jazz artist Dave Frishberg from 8-9 p.m. in Kobacker Hall. Frishberg has been
nominated for a Grammy Award four times and has written notable songs such as
“Peel Me a Grape” and “I’m Just a Bill” from “Schoolhouse Rock.” BGSU students
get in free, all others for $8. Call 419-372-2486.
SUNDAY
Guest artist violinist Andrew Jennings will perform in the Bryan Recital Hall at the
Moore Musical Arts Center starting at 3 p.m. Free
Sunday Matinee at the Gish continues this week with the 100th anniversary of the film
debut of Ohio natives Dorothy and Lillian Gish. Lillian Gish’s longtime manager
James Frasher will present the 1912 film “An Unseen Enemy” and the only recorded
film version of “Lillian Gish and the Movies,” the program that inspired Dr.
Ralph Haven Wolfe to make the Gish Film Theater and Gallery a reality at BGSU.
The films start at 3 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater at Hanna Hall. Free
MONDAY
ARTalks presents “The Art of Seeing Art at the Toledo Museum of Art,” with Kathy
Danko-McGhee, director of education at the museum. Her talk begins at 6 p.m. in
204 Fine Arts Center. Free
The U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors will perform at 8 p.m. in Kobacker Hall of
BGSU’s Moore Musical Arts Center. This official touring band of the U.S. Army
has appeared in all 50 states and performs big band swing, bebop, Latin,
contemporary jazz, Dixieland and more. Free

Tuesdays at the Gish continues with the 1937 film “Marked Woman,” directed by Lloyd
Bacon. Bette Davis and Humphrey Bogart star in this crime melodrama The film
starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Gish Film Theater at Hanna Hall. Free
