WGTE-FM rings in 2013

WGTE-FM has programs set to help listeners ring in the New Year.
"A Season’s Griot," public radio’s only nationally syndicated Kwanzaa
program, airs tonight from 8 to 9 . Hosted by acclaimed storyteller Madafo Lloyd
Wilson, this annual one-hour special captures the tales and traditions of
African-American and African peoples, accompanied by plenty of music.
"Toast of the Nation" offers jazz all night from coast to coast, starting
tonight at 9 with countdowns to midnight in all time zones all the way until 5
a.m.. This year’s headliner, Wynton Marsalis, rings in 2013 Eastern Time, live
from Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola. Other stops include swinging New Year’s
celebrations in Boston, New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.
On New Year’s Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Vienna Philharmonic presents its annual
holiday concert of waltzes, polkas and more from the Golden Hall of the
Musikverein in Vienna.
