Cakewalkin’ show to aid mission trip

PERRYSBURG – The Cakewalkin’ Jass Band will present a Red Hot Valentines Day show
today at Fat Fish Blue in Levis Commons to benefit The Tumaini Medical Mission
to Tanzania.A happy hour will begin at 5 p.m. The Cakewalkin’ Jass Band will
take the perform from 7 to 10 p.m.Admission $15. Receipts will go to help local
doctors, pharmacists, dentists, nurses, members of the clergy, and others
provide medical services to people in remote villages where adequate health care
is not available. The focus will be on the health issues related to pregnant
women, mothers and their infants, and small children.Tumaini Medical Mission
supported by the Northwestern Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in
America, and spearheaded by Grace Lutheran Church, Toledo, Zion Lutheran Church,
Waterville, and Good Hope Lutheran Church, Bucyrus.Travel dates are Oct. 13
through Oct. 25. The program still has openings for doctors or dentists..Top
ailments among the residents of these villages include Malaria, upper
respiratory conditions, high blood pressure, Gastrointestinal problems,
childhood diseases, and general infectionsThe medical teams will offer pre-natal
assessments, vaccinations, attend to general health needs, provide health
education to the general population, and help train local health care workers.
