Owens stages Chekhov farces

The way normalcy morphs into chaos is
the theme of "Short Farces by Anton Chekhov" on stage Thursday through
Sunday in the Mainstage Theatre in the Owens Community College Center for Fine
and Performing Arts, off Oregon Road in Perrysburg Township.The show will be
staged Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.The
production brings together the Russian author’s one-act plays "The
Bear", "The Festivities" and "The Proposal." Each
comedy begins with a normal situation that builds to high comedy."Short
Farces by Anton Chekhov" is directed by Jeremy Meier and Dave Nelms. Cast
member, from the college and community, are: John Sweney and Rachel Ramlawi,
both of Perrysburg; Silvester Rodriguez IV and Ashley Myatt, both of Walbridge;
Melissa Shaffer; Bowling Green; Devon Held of Pemberville; Sarah Wurzinger, Tim
Grindle, Esteban Vega, and Jon Masters, all of Toledo; and Matthew Crawford of
Sylvania.Tickets are $12 for the general public and $8 for Owens students and
