BGSU students present recitals throughout town

Students from Bowling Green State University will be bringing the sound
of music into the Bowling Green community in recitals in the next
several weeks.
Among the free recitals, scheduled are:
• A chamber music concert featuring a international cast of music
performance graduate students will be presented Friday at 4 p.m. at the
Wood County Public Library. The performers are: pianists Yoonjeung
Choi, from South Korea, Dimitra Kokkinopoulou, Greece, and Svetlana
Obregon Saens, Russia; violist YooBin Lee, South Korea; and clarinetist
Jeffrey Anderson, Michigan. The program includes music for piano, viola,
and clarinet trio as well as piano four-hands piano by W.A, Mozart,
Johannes Brahms, Maurice Ravel, and Max Bruch.
• “An Evening in the Romantic Era,” a performance of sings featuring
vocalists Darius Gillard, Laura Reaper and Benjamin Laur will be
presented Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in the Wood County Public Library. For
the concert, organized by NeQuasia Latrice Reeves, each singer will
perform three songs. Music by composers Claude Debussy, Jules Massenet,
Gustav Mahler, Sergei Rachmaninoff , Giacomo Puccini and Erich Korngold
will be included.
• “Fall in Love with Fall,” a song recital, will be presented Sunday at
7 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 200 N. Summit St. The cast
of 15 includes performers from all over the United States as well as
international students from Japan, China and Trinidad and Tobago. They
will perform arias and duets from operas as well as other classical
pieces.
• Advent Lessons and Carols will be presented by graduate choral
conducting students Daniel Parsley and Angelica Dunsavage, Nov. 30 at 5
p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 126 S. Church St. The program
includes music from the Renaissance era through gospel songs. Audience
members are encouraged to participate in the singing of holiday hymns
throughout the event.
