BG community band present first cabaret-style concert
The Bowling Green Area Community Band with special guests The Tower Brass Quintet will present its first
cabaret-style concert March 24 at 8 p.m. at the Bowling Green Training and Community Center on Newton
Road.
This concert is a departure in venue and format from the band’s traditional auditorium style settings.
Using the multi-purpose room the community center will be transformed into a nightclub featuring a wide
array of entertaining music. It is the desire of the Bowling Green Area Community Band board to have an
intimate atmosphere where people can share desserts with their friends while listening to great music.

The band, under the direction of Thom Headley, will perform a variety of dance tunes from swing to
ballet.
The Tower Brass Quintet will join the band in several show-stopping numbers including Rodgers and
Hammerstein’s "The ‘Carousel’ Waltz", "America" from Leonard Bernstein’s
"Westside Story," "The Floral Dance" from the movie "Brassed Off" and
"A Sousa Collection".
Tickets are $10 and include light refreshments with reserved seating at tables of eight. Advance tickets
are available at Grounds For Thought. No tickets will be sold at the door.
