Wild Carrot and the Root Band, voted the best folk act in Cincinnati, will perform two shows in Wood
County this weekend — Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the Pemberville Opera House and Sunday at 2 p.m. in the
Opera House upstairs in the Grand Rapids Town Hall. Tickets for both shows are $10. Call (419) 287-4848.
Wild Carrot and the Root Band has performed internationally under the auspices of the U.S. State
Department. Mike Breen of City Beat calls their show “a whirlwind of Roots music forms, touching on
Bluegrass, Country, swinging Jazz, Modern Folk and Celtic music. The original songs stand up well
against the well-chosen covers … with a consistently masterful grace (and) flawless four-part
harmonies.”
